‘mr. possum, how are you this evening?’
‘little hungry stanley, but otherwise quite dandy’

What makes good design?

Is it form follows function? Or is it the idea that the beauty lies in 'less is more' or rather 'less is a bore'?
I feel that good design is determined by the level of functunality, the use of materials and the way that fits into one's daily lifestyle. But then again, the aesthetic beauty of a product or art piece could weigh more than the need of it. That is why I like the work of product designer, Philippe Starck. He has pushed the boundries of design to a point where people question his ideas, yet are still drawn to the unusual working concepts that he incorperates into each of his products.

By looking at Philippe Starck's idea of conceptional design, I would like to incorperate that same design ideas into my work. I want my pieces to be fully funtional and leave people questioning but loving my jewellery.

So therefore I feel that good design is creating something through concepts and ideas with basic principles of functunality.

Just a little something...
